TFC Consultants, Inc. was founded in 2001 for the exclusive purpose of working with communities throughout the United States to establish Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) programs.

Implementation services are initially delivered to community-based sites over a yearlong contract period. The implementation package includes pre-service training for clinical program staff and foster parents, support and assistance in the area of foster parent recruitment, weekly clinical supervision by telephone upon program start-up, several on-site consultations during the first year, and access to an online daily behavior data collection system for use in the clinical management of the placements. TFC Counsultants works with sites to produce positive outcomes for youth and families through adherence to the MTFC model.

Prior to the start of implementation efforts, organizational preparedness is reviewed at potential sites and is improved (if needed) so that new MTFC programs are positioned to be successful to the highest degree possible once pre-service training begins.

As of early 2003, implementation efforts are underway in Detroit, MI; Phoenix, AZ; Lynchburg, VA; Spokane, WA; Florence, SC; Auburn and Syracuse, NY; Butler, Greensburg, and Lewistown, PA; Portland, OR; St. Paul, MN, and Sault Ste. Marie, ONT. There are two sites in Europe (in Norway and Sweden). Additional sites in the United Kingdom and in New York, California, and Connecticut are expected begin in the next 3 to 6 months.
